So far I have altered 30 various clothes like shirts, blouses, tops etc.Very easy and will prove handy.Very disappointing.Too small even for simple projects. The tension could not be adjusted! It made it impossible to use and my granddaughter was very disappointedI went to use it and the needle broke! Like how does that even happenSuch a pleasure to have a light compact sewing machine on quick projects.this machine is small but mini is in the name so don’t be surprised.I wouldn’t recommend it.It just won’t stitch and it is really inconvenient because I was using it to sew the hairpieces I sell. Our first projects are pillows, then a skirt and then whatever else is easier.I would not recommend this product for anyone. It comes with everything mentioned.Tristemente comenzó a falla casi de inmediato y ya no cose aún cuando el mecanismo sigue funcionando.Very easy to use.Perfect for my daughters 13th birthday gift.

fbbFI says:

Actually, that’s not quite true.I called singer and they told me that it was under warranty and I could send it to the nearest dealer who was certified for warranty work but that I would have to pay shipping both ways.Amazon replaced the machine, and when I unpacked my "new" machine, I found it wasn’t new AT ALL ! There was dirt and dust in the crevices on top, so I investigated further. That is the biggest annoyance, but I find that some of the screens are difficult to figure out in spite of the manual, which I constantly refer to as nothing about this machine is intuitive.Singer’s touch screen is superior, as it is not only a color screen — theirs isn’t — it is much clearer.Excellent for the money! I love the foot pedal, start stop button, automatic threader, reverse button, up down needle button and the ease of creating bobbins and threading them! Great for quilting! Has the same functionality as higher priced Janome machines but more capabilities and accessories included. While trying to use the machine quilting function I used invisible nylon thread as suggested in the owners manual, it cut through the thread guide.I found out about the Singer 9960 watching a video of a woman who was doing a tutorial on diapers and all I could focus on was the functionality of her Singer.I had read issues of suddenly eating your fabric..I’ve always used a Singer, and I was very excited at the prospect of having so many additional decorative stitches on a machine that costs less than my iPad.It also makes free hand motion quilting quirky too because it seems to skip a lot there.I was upgrading from an entry level Brother CS6000i.I haven’t used even half of the stitches the machine can make.Love it or not 5.I finally feel better, looking forward to doing some projects. On first use, the bobbin shattered using the built-in bobbin winder, creating sharp plastic shard projectiles.Wrong.I will be sewing a straight stitch and next thing its sewing a zig zag stitch and the thread gets stuck inside the machine and then your ruffling everything and you have to cut the thread to rethread it.I’m so glad I looked at Amazon! I was able to buy a 2 year plan for it for only $27! Not to mention I saw Amazon was quick to help those who had some issue with their machine.

efhqQ says:

I’ve been using daily since it arrived about 3 weeks ago.Because of the negative reviews I really put it through it’s paces. The machine was for use and shipment to Singapore / Manila .You buy on the internet, and watch a YouTube video for demonstrations of all the features before you buy, which is great because the videos are always there, unlike the traveling salesman.I initially had trouble with the thread cutter but I rewound the bobbin and that fixed the problem. It’s got more stitches then I’ll ever use in a lifetime. So when I was shopping for a new machine I of course thought to get the upgraded version – its a great machine for all the features and the price, and the automatic thread cutter is a must for me.Had a singer sewing machine years ago unfortunately it was stolen..This Singer replaced a Singer 6268 that I bought in 1979! I sewed on the Singer 6268 for 40 years without one day of trouble. The second one does not work either, there is a circuit board loose and the machine hits it when I try to go into reverse.I took it to be repaired in May of 2017 and after many conversations, I was told that the bobbin case was broken. The only Singer I had ever sewed on was my mother’s and it was a model from the 60’s .The first one sewed beautifully, however, it kept throwing error codes and would stop working for a few minutes.I used it primarily for quilting but after just one quilt the vibrations of the machine started to cause the top tension to stop working.Runs quiet, and absolute perfect stitches every time.Seems Singer still has not fully resolved this common bobbin jamming issue…I’m not an expert at sewing by any stretch; still consider myself a total beginner. So I’m used to using high quality machines and wasn’t expecting a whole lot out of this relatively inexpensive one.Seriously!I want to share that I found a YouTube Video on this specific machine done by Singer.

EohNJy says:

I should have known better, but customer reviews were so high.be prepared to be upset especially if this is your first automated machine. At first, I loved this machine when it first arrived.) and the buttonholer is a nightmare.I am disappointed seeing the machine is not even a month old yet and it is malfunctioning already!I bought this machine 14 th DEC 2018.This was purchased as NEW and came out of its original box sans the extras. The automatic thread cutter is tread and time saving.Have had this machine since Oct.I have made multiple quilts of varied sizes and it has handled them without any issues. Now I can only sew at the slowest speed and even then the feed dogs will stop pulling the fabric through.I am not a seamstress, but familiar with sewing. It has worked reliably for me since day 1 and I would highly recommend it for beginners or intermediate sewers. But be warned this video will sell you on the machine if you’re like me! I haven’t used a sewing machine for 40 years and with this video, I was ready to operate the machine as soon as it arrived.I would not have another SInger machine if they gave it to me.Have been afraid of a new machine for some time.48 for the 9980 instead of the PC420PRW at $383..I did a lot of reading and research before buying. Then it died. With my Viking, I had to buy each of those separately, at about $35 a pop.

vkpBT says:

I’ve retired from my sewing business. My grandma and mom were sewers and there was always a machine around, sturdy and reliable through the years.Since this was bought as an extra machine to supplement my embroidery and overlock machines, it was used very sparingly.Per customer support electronic parts only are covered for 2 years but to get it repaired, I must pay labor plus shipping , since they have very limited service centers .I am a stay at home seamstress and do arts and crafts show at least once a month. It had plenty of power to go through multiple layers of Sunbrella fabric smoothly.Last week I had to take my steady Eddy into the shop for the first time ever, and needed a replacement/backup ASAP.It mostly worked well in that 2 year period. It definitely gets the job done fast.I’d done plenty of research and wanted something that could sew through the heavy upholstery material that I have started using for projects, my other machine broke recently so I thought I’d go for this as an intermediate upgrade.Works great with Sunbrella Great choice. The main trouble is the speed.Don’t count on the pictures and instructions in the book to be of much help because they are vague at the best.I got this product because of the high reviews of customer satisfaction.Spent $200 on items and can’t even exchange it out for a new one.I have the appropriate needles.I’ve use a couple different sewing machines before, and I’d say I’m an advanced beginner. So far this has been a great machine – 3 months.I normally run industrial machines, but I purchased it because there are a few pieces that I make on a daily basis that require me to change from a zig zag to a straight stitch frequently, and the dials are faster for me to use.

ZoufF says:

It’s decent enough to get through thick layers but the needle may break if it’s too thick. It’s labeled heavy duty but can barely handle thick canvass or cotton, I wouldn’t dare try denim or leather because the whole machine would probably fall apart.I used to work in professional costume shops, so I’m used to working on all metal machines from the last century. The machine has a tendency to “eat” fabric and the bobbin kept tangling. It is my first sewing machine. It also is super fast. This is by far the worst machine i have ever bought.Sometimes simplicity is the solution. The stiches are not tight enough.I was worried about reviews saying there was really only one speed but like any machine this is easily controlled with the presser foot and the amount of pressure used with it.Packed it up and sent it back and ordered a "Janome" and I LOVE it…don’t bother with this machine if you have heavy duty sewing to do…I have been sewing for over 50 years and needed to get a new sewing machine for basic sewing and repairs.Sometimes the thread would jam up in the bob case and under the fabric, other times it wouldn’t.It did work if you switched it to “button hole” mode.HOWEVER, there’s a few things I’d like to mention in the hopes of helping out folks like me who are looking for a first, domestic sewing machine.Heavy duty – that’s what I wanted, something made of metal and that would last.Only used a few times on light weight fabric and could barely sew two layers and thread would skip on the top and bottom.Recently I was asked to do a big sewing job, putting patches on a leather vest.I have only had a little over a month, so haven’t sewn a lot of things. It’s not pretty, but it’s a work horse.

FSrpTH says:

Huge step up from my 10-year-old Brother machine.Definitely heavy Duty, nothing too fancy but still has a few options if you need to "Decorate".It came defective right out of the box. We’ve had many since then, and we’ve had a lot of problems with Singer machines, but not with this one. This machine didn’t last more than 3 years.I really wanted to love this sewing machine but i am sorry , it frustrates me alotI initially gave this machine a one star rating because the bobbin kept getting jammed and there was only one super fast speed. The first one I ordered I thought was just defective and didn’t have some of the things listed so I returned it and requested a new one.Called Singer customer support and had a terrible experience culminating with the agent raising her voice and hanging up on me.I just finished making a sailboat cockpit cover to keep rainwater out of my sailboat cabin and the cover works great! Now I’m going to start making a main sail “pack” which I’m expecting to also be a pretty easy project. This hasn’t been moved off my kitchen table in weeks because I am finally able to finish all those little projects. This machine is easy to learn, easy to use and I’m thrilled to replace an unnamed competitor’s machine with this workhorse.Sews very nicely. This machine jammed right out of the box.‘Heavy Duty’ is at best a misnomer; I’d prefer to say fraudulent – it’s that bad.But there is no manual. The machine arrived damaged. That was the only reason I bought it.Also comes with a duster bag with is great to keep it clean during storage.

jqFdW says:

I knew it would probably be oversized. This case is WAY TOO BIG to adequately protect my machine as I carry it.I would have given it five stars EXCEPT it is about ⅛ inch too short to accommodate my Brother XR3140 without removing the "flat bed attachment" prior to storage.I guess you can stuff it yourself or custom make it with some foam? I don’t want to ruin it so I didn’t bother, but I might sew something to that effect. This could be left on permanently, even when sewing. But it is like carrying a big box and the machine shifts inside making me reluctant to use it .It’s definitely big since it’s a "universal" case but I headed the advice of other reviewers and kept the bottom packing foam from the original sewing machine box and it keeps the machine from sliding around. It would have been nice if there was a case specifically for the SE400 in this price range, but I couldn’t find one. This is a "universal" sewing machine case, it’s not going to custom fit any one specific make/model – but it will fit pretty much all standard size home sewing machines & sergers.I use both… so when I prepare the CS6000i for storage, I first put on the plastic dust cover, and secondarily I place the dust covered sewing machine into the 5300 carry-case base, carefully lower the carry-case lid over the top, then snap down the 2 latches.I almost didn’t buy it because the bad reviews said it was small and did not hold their machines.Holds my expanded surface table that goes on my machine and some other goodies.I didn’t realize that you have to buy the case by itself.I have had to store my sewing machine and serger in separate carrying cases along with a large packet of silica gel each to absorb any moisture. On the other hand, the additional space on all sides will allow me to store the quilting table, manual, foot pedal, and some extra sewing supplies.I was going to make a soft cover for my machine, but after considering the price and "what if" risks, I opted for the hard case.It fits even with the thread spools on, although the thread antenna must be pushed down to the tops of the thread spools.Dimensions 17.This thing is huge with no locks to hold the smaller machine inside.

gipxf says:

Used with Brother brand machine.I had to pad the insides with blocks of FOAM in order to secure the intended machine from rattling around. It fits my regular sewing machine just fine.I ended up cutting some foam blocks to prevent my least expensive machine from sliding around. It was too big.I bought it for my Brother 2600i since it does not come with one.Everything in one place.I placed the machine in carrying case picked it up and it flops to one side or the other banging on the carrying case. The machine fits nicely on a shelf – this is as big as a cat carrier..It’s plenty big enough for my machine, the embroidery attachment, extra hoops, instruction books, etc.The picture shows the color as bright white but is more of an off-white color not that it makes a difference to me.Just about any portable sewing machine or serger fits in this case. The other benefit is there is extra room in the case around my machine for a small sewing kit, so I have everything I need in this one case. The sewing machine is so small compared to this case and it moves around when caring it.I love the sewing machine. This may have been communicated somewhere, but I missed it.I bought it about a year ago and am now buying another it fits all but one of my machines….

fszepa says:

I was hoping this case would be large enough to fit both the sewing machine and it’s cover inside, and it is.I transfer my spindle to the other shorter thread holder. Its big and clunky, but what do you expect from a carrier for a sewing machine? This keeps it safe while it is not in use, and while I am on the way to sewing classes.Even though Amazon suggested this case for my daughters new sewing machine it is HUGE.The case is made in the USA, but it’s not made by Brother–their name is on the case as “distributed by Brother” and it’s fairly flimsy, with no provision for locking a machine into its base.I ordered this case thinking it was universal to all Brother machines, at least so that it would be safe.I got one the bottom was warped so I asked for a replacement.I read the reviews from others that mentioned how large it is.Yes it’s loose and not custom but can add a towel to prevent wobbling, I just wanted to put it away in a closet so it works fine and has a little extra room to stick the booklet etc.For $20, I put a little light oil on them ; & all is fine. The universal case was all that was available.Your machine may slide around a bit inside if it’s jostled too much, but a couple pieces of well placed scrap foam takes care of that perfectly.A bit clunky and I sometimes wonder if I should have purchased one of those cloth bags, but I feel confident that this case will protect my machine if it should get bumped.I would have returned, but not worth the effort. It fit easily then with room to add the cord a couple small accessories inside the case.I donated it to a local charity that teaches young pregnant girls to make quilts,[/review6]<!– .It’s deep enough that my serger is not going to slide around and I had just a little room to store other sewing attachments and threads. This case works out really well.

What a letdown.I have no other experiences with sewing machines to offer except to say that I am extremely happy with my choice.I was sewing plush blankets for my twin great grandsons and this machine would NOT MOVE THE FABRIC THROUGH..Very easy to use, and manual is great when you run into any issues. Can’t use the darn thingThe needle threader does not come close to working.Had it for 5 months.I love the ability to raise and lower the needle by pushing a button and the drop in spool feature.Great price too!I finally decided to update my 40 year old Brother sewing machine which actually still runs fine. She was so frustrated with her old machine she almost gave up.I have been sewing my whole life.I didn’t like the fact that I could not use cones with this machine, and if the upper thread did not come from the same spool as the bobbin thread, it would jam up, which was a pain. She had just the slightest desire to start sewing. The instruction booklet is very easy to understand and follow along. It gives me so many excellent stitches and my fabric art is greatly embellished by the options it provides.I am not a beginner but far from an expert and this machine gives me everything I could ever want.It sews smoothly and is super easy to thread the bobbin and upper thread and to change the stitches, things I was nervous about doing without help.

xvVZu says:

It has a feature that threads the needle for you.I haven’t tried my zipper or buttonhole foot yet, but am so happy with this machine.I wore it out and machine was discontinued.I am new to sewing at the age of 55.The DVD was a fabulous tool to help me learn the differences in operation. For the price it is a good buy this is my 2nd one my daughter took my first one home.It will not feed the fabric straight so there’s something wrong with the feed dogs on the bottom.00.I researched for awhile before purchasing and can understand why many cosplayers recommend to purchase for beginners.I bought this machine mainly to use for quilting. The instructional dvd was so easy to understand.[/review5][review5]I was amazed at the possibilities of this basic machine. It works fine and I like it a lot but not as nice as my Kenmore sewing machine that I had to put aside after over 40 years of working with it.This machine practically does the work for you, the different speed setting are so awesome, really easy to thread, really quiet and it does so many nifty stitches. This is my first computerized machine, but it is very user friendly, making the transition quite easy.

fsmJxQ says:

Love the extra plate for sewing on.6000i is much better than this.I ordered it to use it at my son’s home and coule do Michael lire than I thought, including sewing thick layers of material.Love it, so glad I bought it.I am a beginner and even I can use this very advanced sewing machine.I love it.I bought this updated model to replace the hole in my sewing heart.Second one I bought.I had a brother for 11 years and it was a self threading machine .post-content –> <use xlink:href="http://2azap.I absolutely love this Brother machine! I’m still learning some things but it is so smooth running I’m starting to try bigger projects. With stretch fabric which is what I’m using right now.It runs smoothly and I love the easy speed control button. It cost $1500 back then! I would never have believed I could replace it for only $200! Thank you Amazon. She absolutely loves it, says it has so many more options than the other machine.

XSEvt says:

After reading reviews and using other brand machines, I rolled the dice. This product broke after only three uses. She had been sewing basic stitches for years and has good knowledge of machines and the process. To replace it I wanted something sturdy, basic, and reliable. It is going to cost about double the cost of this machine to repair it.I did sew with the machine this morning, and was pleased with the stitching, and the ease in which the machine handled the fabrics which were medium weight. It has done a fantastic job on sewing a new boat cover.Since I only paid 110 for it I babied it hoping it would last till I finish the job and it did. They were only a few months old, too.It took me a while to find the hidden accessory tray in the base, but that’s more operator error.Great price. The only thing I don’t like is that it seems the upper thread gets caught or comes loose too often, causing the thread to bunch, so it seems I have to rethread a LOT.Could not go through fabric layers that my regular machine could do, regardless of needle/thread used.I just got it today and set it up with heavy thread and needle to test sew 4 layers of sail cloth using a zigzag stitch.Once I figured that out, the machine performed up to my expectations and did exactly what a sewing machine was designed to do.So many times the needle would not move up and down even when the engine is running.Very heavy duty and well made.

HSmOD says:

But as soon as I was ready, I turned it on, put the bobbin, threaded it and it worked beautifully! It works well on all types of materials.Too bad they cannot make it work.I love this machine.Big mistake.Bobbin casing keeps catching and tightening up.Easy to use (don’t tell Singer, but I did not read the directions prior to use

I just got the machine, un-boxed and set up bases on quick set up guide, ran a few test stitches, and repaired 3 pars of jeans quickly and easily! I am very happy with the entire design and the flawless use.So just thread machine myself, spent to long a couple of times trying to thread.[ Why are the pictures showing what is what 20% the actual size of the small parts?].When I turn on the machine and begin sewing it will not start. This was a Christmas gift for my daughter. So for the money, it does work okay.99 just to look at the machine and service piece of crap warrantyI learned to sew on a treadle machine when I was 12, over 65 years ago! I wanted a light weight, basic machine, easy to thread, easy to use.I’m looking forward to doing more with it.It’s bent.It is easier to just thread it normally. When I read about other accessories that you need with it I thought I would have to purchase them extra.00 to repair it.She has hemmed pants and made curtains already! Great starter machine, great price, easy to use! Very happy.I don’t do a lot of sewing, but it’s great for hemming and adjustments. We love it.I’m really disappointed.I wanted something that could hem pants, fix drapes etc and this fit the bill perfectly.Otherwise, works great! All claims were very accurate and complete….

The bobbin was and is a nightmare.Wish I had realized how bad it was before the return time expired.I can’t figure out how the automatic needle threader works, but I appreciate it despite that.my mom is using it easily .I got exactly what I deserved.I bought this one, It was very easy to thread the bobbin and the machine.Perfect for the beginner and light weight.I love this sewing machine.I love this sewing machine! It truly is simple it even has directions right on the machine to help you thread it.I have used a sewing machine for years, I would not be afraid to construct a whole outfit on this machine.Very nice machine.I just got a defective one I guess.essy to usrBought this to teach my granddaughter how to sew.

This is it! I was able to mend two pair of my husband’s pants in 20 minutes the first time I used it.The automatic needle threader is tricky to use, but handy once you figure it out.Love my new machine.Really light.Loved it.She likes that is light weight enough for her to move it around and to store it in the closet.I use it to do simple sewing projects for my family.Love the automatic threader.I went to sew something for my grand daughter and it worked for a few minutes then stopped. This is an inexpensive machine and it really feels cheap. This is my first sweeping machine & it came highly recommended for beginners but I think it’s still pretty complicated.I am deeply disappointed.Unfortunately, I was just able to try to use this machine today for the first time.Have been sewing for close to 40 years and now I can’t get this machine to see a normalseam. This machine is super easy to use, the dvd was a nice intro to everything.post-content –> <use xlink:href="http://2azap.It is simple, inexpensive, and does what it is supposed.

KPCB Mini Sewing Machines with Foot Pedal Review

  • Mini Sewing Machine:Compared to full-size sewing machine, it is mini and portable with single straight line stitch. Althought the function is simple, it make some daily mending for your requirement.
  • Electric Operated: For continuing and strong power, it is equiped with ETL adapter. And for convenience, it can be used with 4 AA batteries if there is not any AC/DC electricity.
  • Wide application: Suitable for cotton fabric, linen, silk, ployester, thin demin and thin jeans. Due to its size, the stitch power is limited. Please make sure the fabric is not too thick or hard.
  • Equipped with foot pedal and extension table, it is convenient to sew the project as big sewing machine. And the cuff slot on this machine would be great for sew sleeves or some pants.
  • Design of double thread makes it easily end up the stitch which helps to finish a mending job. And the winding pole makes rewinding the bobbins convenient.

Works perfectlyAt first when my wife and I opened the box we thought oh my God this is a toy! but she started using and it is amazing how it works. This is so cute and works great! I really enjoy it!I am not a pro when it comes to sewing so my end results are not the best. It’s small and it’s cute and looks like it’s going to be easy to use.The set up is simple and self understanding. My thought process was I’d practice until I got my skills back, then upgrade to a very nice and expensive one, then give the beginner one to my niece. It performed well with thicker sweatshirt material even thought its a small machine.I always thought it is complicated to manipulate, i used to see my grandma sewing our clothes. But a regular size is costly and take up much space.Love the needle threader, the extra feet and automatic bobbin drop in feature. It was easy to assemble and change out the thread.I asked my grandma for some helped and we had a great time.Easy to set up and works very good.I love the popout table that comes with it and I like that this can be stored easily.I opened it to check it wasn’t too cheap or junk.We have bought this mini sewing machine but it is already helping us big time.Recommended![/review2][review3]Small but does the job! Bought it to make some clothes for my daughter and so far I’m enjoying using it.Previously I had been hand sewing and I wanted something more efficient.

It is important to note that these portable sewing machines are not toys.I need sewing machine at home to me make blanket/pillow cover. This little machine does basic stitching and I was able to learn it in one hour without any previous experience.Super good!My aunt is usually good at sewing, but it takes a lot of time to sew by hand.Out of the box, it’s already set up with a small piece of fabric that has stitches on it.It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to sew.It also doesn’t go backwards, so it’s hard to reinforce your stitching, especially since it only does straight stitch.I think I will return it.Therefore, I want to write a review immediately.Just wanted it to sew straight seams for house deco.I decided to buy this portable one as it was cute and if I felt sewing wasn’t for me then, it was easy to just put away and it was cost efficient. Its junkUpdate: I changed it to 3 star because the seller sent me a new one.Especially families with children.Super reasonable size even for my semi large hands.Especilly for pants so the pants always too long.Perfect for the craft projects working on.Mini size is good to my sewing, and one line stitching is enough for me.Second, it is easy to control, just press the on button, it begins to work. Its so comfy and such a cute tiny machine .

I bought two this month, neither worked, and I returned them.I took it to an independent repair center. It should have been an upgrade.Decorative stitches are not consistent.I’ve pieced and quilted countless quilts on this machine, and for the most part, it has served me well. Then the bobbin bunched together.Ran like a dream.I have a Brother quilting machine , a Babylock Aria , and basically outgrew my mechanical Elna that I used for travel mostly, and really wanted a machine with a needle down option and variety of stitches.when my feed dogs stopped working they wouldn’t replace or fix my machine… they stated that my machine was only warrantied for 1 year………I would never buy another brother of any productI do a lot of sewing & machine quilting.Have used this for various sewing projects from mending to formal dresses.I am 64 years old and been making clothes and household items since my twenties.Which I should of done sooner! You will not be disappointed with this little gem of a sewing machine.I love this machine but for big quilting projects. She loves all of the stitches, the way is runs and gives her a "strong stitch".Grr.I saw lots of YouTube about HC1850 and I was so excited to own it and start making my projects.I have never used a sewing machine in my 33 years of life up until I bought this.Life happened and after some time I chose today to try sewing the characters.I’ve been using my grandmother’s Ulna from the early 1950’s for the last 30 years.

As it is advertised to be a quilting machine, I thought it would come with the appropriate feet to quilt.I did a lot of research and found this Brother machine on sale. When I first unboxed the machine, it was so easy to figure out and immediately use..It worked great.I have to say, for the price I had expected a sturdier machine. But one of its selling features, the automatic threader broke after a few uses.I love the machine.I’ve only set it up and tried some of the 130 auto stitches available.Struggles more than I feel it should with mildly thick fabrics but gets the job done.In the past, I have become quite adept at sewing on my grandmother’s machine.I was directed by the company to take it to a service center which repaired the unit.Error message note states th motor is locked up because the thread is tangled… not so.I WILL BE SWITCHING TO JANOMEUPDATE: THEY SENT A NEW MACHINE THAT IS WORSE THAN THE FIRST ONE.Since receiving the machine last week, my 10-year-old daughter has figured out how to wind the bobbin and sew both basic and decorative stitches.Same goes for using the different stitches. My idea of a machine called a Quilting machine is that it would QUILT without further purchases. Also, when I called Brother, they were rude and not helpful – 4 different times and on hold to begin with each time over 20 minutes just to get connected.

I had my eye on 3 Brother brand sewing machines JoAnn’s offered online.I have a smaller, simpler Brother that has performed very well for 12 years, but I wanted features to support quilting, so I treated myself to this one.Mending, hemming, small projects, etc.I have had it for 5 months and it did the same thing my other one did.The backstitch button stopped working and made the whole machine malfunction. It works well, although I have never figured out the self threading function. It’s a dream to sew with as this is my first machine that I’ve used that was built in this millennium! Easy to get started from watching the short DVD guide.Giving it 5 stars now for ease of use, but only have had it for a month and only completed some curtains.Took a while to figure out the auto threader but works great.I am just frustrated. For quilting, they could have designed a few things better – foot lift on right – would be better on left out of the way, the stitch selection etc get bumped as you pull quilt in and out to quilt it but you get used to it.I haven’t used many of the decorative stiches, but the kids like it when I use the monogramming to put their name on thingsGears jam up and not happy with it.I am an avid quilter and originally purchased it as a backup machine in case anything happen to my other Brother .I’ve had to turn it off and on multiple times to get going in the correct direction.I didn’t know if sewing was something that I would love so I didn’t want to spend to much money on a machine.I had 3 Babylock machines.I used it to recover foam cushions on a glider rocker. It sews up to 6 layers of vinyl without skipping a beat.It is much quieter, has better control on the pedal and feels much sturdier overall!I love the variety of stitches available, but wish the letters had more options .
